This year Camp Live, Laugh, Love was July 22-24, 2011 at Camp Nissokone in Oscoda, Michigan. We had a wonderful time again this year- once again our best camp ever! Hard to believe with the hot and steamy conditions we had! On Saturday we even had to "go to plan B" when we had thunderstorms for about 2 hours! We had to stay "inside" and that gave the campers and their teen buddies more time to interact. That was a good thing!
This year we had a full camp and had the pleasure of having 4 adult volunteers from the Upper Peninsula join us to learn about how we do camp. They plan to start their own camp for next summer. They were a wonderful addition to camp...

The Children's Bereavement Network (CBN) is a non-profit organization that sponsors Camp Live, Laugh, Love for children grieving the death of a significant loved one in their life. This camp is FREE! Because of donations from caring people in our communities, there is no cost to you or your child. A caring group of trained professionals and volunteers have come together to help children realize that "IN LIFE THERE IS HOPE". View our brochure.
Our goal is to provide a safe environment in which children can explore and express their grief. Grieving is unique for each child and they grieve differently at each stage of development. Children's Bereavement Network works with children ages 8 - 13. At this age children are struggling with their own self-concept. The death of a...
The Children's Bereavement Network (CBN) is pleased with the relationship with Heartland Hospice over the past year. They have chosen our Camp Live, Laugh, Love to send their grieving children to help them on their Grief Journey.
This year, once again, Mary Cox who is the Bereavement Coordinator attended camp as a Group Leader. She loves helping out and we are grateful to have her.
The Chaplain, Rev. Karen Henderlong wrote a grant to their foundation and obtained a $5000.00 grant to help with the camp. Heartland Hospice also sent some campers and purchased 50 copies of a book that we use at our Fall Reunion. This has worked out to be good for both organizations. It gives Heartland Hospice a camp to recommend to their grieving children, and it gives CBN the help we need to continue to have...

We are honored that Camp, Live, Laugh, Love has been selected this year. For more information, please see our Resources page for a link to the site. Our thanks to the Traverse Bay Camping Club members and all who purchase items for our cause!
Through the years, Children's Bereavement Network has been fortunate to receive grant funding from the Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF). This year was no exception. The Roscommon County Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council (YAC) recommended a grant of $1000 from the Roscommon County Kellogg Youth Fund for 5 Teen Buddies from Roscommon County to attend camp. The RCCF Committee also recommended a $500 grant from the Roscommon County General Fund to cover the cost of one camper, one teen buddy and 1/2 the cost of an adult from Roscommon County to participate in Camp Live, Laugh, Love. We are happy to say that both grants were approved by the Board of Trustees.
Thank you so much to the Roscommon County Community Foundation for their helpful support. It has...
